Known to fans simply as TK, Tim Tipton has been the heartbeat of Ohio Rockaholics from the very beginning. A founding member, drummer, and lead vocalist, TK has spent more than six decades doing what he loves—bringing classic rock to life from behind the drum kit. His musical journey began at just seven years old when he started tapping rhythms on anything within reach. Little did he know that at 69, he’d still be driving the band with the same passion and energy that first inspired him as a kid. TK’s love for singing started in church, where he discovered his ability to hit the high notes and harmonies that define so many classic rock songs. Those early experiences shaped his vocal style and inspired a lifelong appreciation for great harmony and musicianship.

Everything changed the first time he heard the Surfaris’ iconic hit “Wipe Out.” Instantly hooked, TK’s parents bought him a Beatles drum set, and from that day forward there was no turning back. Countless hours of practice filled the family home, and as he jokes today, “My poor family put up with all that drumming—God love them!” Growing up during rock’s golden era, TK studied the bands that defined a generation. He admired not only their musicianship but also the powerful vocal harmonies that made their music timeless. His goal became simple: to be part of a band that could recreate that same excitement and authenticity on stage. For TK, there’s nothing quite like sitting behind the drums when the band locks into the groove and everything clicks. “Time stands still when you’re behind a drum kit,” he says. “You don’t want the night to end.” That connection between the band and the audience is what continues to inspire him every weekend.

Throughout his career, TK has shared the stage with many talented musicians and built friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Every band has its challenges and triumphs, and he believes those experiences are all part of becoming a better musician. “You can’t have the good without the bad,” he says. “Every experience teaches you something.” Today, TK continues to lead Ohio Rockaholics with the same enthusiasm that began more than 60 years ago. His mission is simple: deliver authentic, blues-based classic rock with powerful vocals, solid musicianship, and a show that leaves audiences wanting one more song.
